Barbara White
Barbara is a Senior Lecturer in Information Technology at CDU specialising in Human Computer interaction teaching students how to build people friendly software. With a background in Education and Software Development, Barbara has been building multimedia and web based programs since 1991 when she joined James Cook University to work on an innovative project that took Teacher Education into the Torres Straits and the remote parts of Northern Queensland. Her first years at Charles Darwin University as Director of Flexible Learning saw the establishment of the online learning programs for the past 15 years has been teaching in IT as well as having a broader Associate Dean Learning and Teaching role for 5 years. Barbara has won various teaching and software awards nationally and at university level as well as winning external learning and teaching grants from the various Federal funding bodies. Her research is in the intersection of people, virtual and physical digital spaces and learning with a particular interest in how materials shape human practices
Bel Cook
Delivering hundreds of projects while leading elite digital production teams, Bel’s work has won industry awards for the creation of never-before-seen web software for organisations such as Google, Optus, Sydney Opera House and Subaru.
Now the founder of her own Agency in the Northern Territory, Digitally Buzzed, Bel has entered the world of augmented and virtual reality.
Debbie Holland
Debbie Holland is the Regional Business Manager NT for Quality People Recruitment and Contracting Services, who specialize in finding Quality hard to get ICT professionals. She has extensive experience in IT recruitment and in mentoring people with their career progression. She has lived and worked in the NT for the last 15 years and has an extensive network across the whole region. Debbie previously worked as the Regional Business Manager for Origin Energy for 5 years, ran her own small business in Darwin for 6 years and worked Internationally as a Sales Director in the Telecoms industry for 20 years prior to moving to Australia in 2002. Debbie has 2 teenage daughters and lives and works in Darwin. Debbie volunteers as President of Riding for the Disabled in the Top End.
Ewan Perrin
Ewan Perrin has broad experience in business and technology leadership over 30 years in Australia, the South Pacific and Southeast Asia. As a CIO in the Australian Government, he implemented their first offshore-hosted cloud computing solution. He has worked in multinationals and local consulting companies, focusing on transformational change and technology strategy. He has provided strategic digital advice to SE Asian CIOs with Gartner Singapore and conducted technology research with a boutique advisory firm. He holds a Master of Business (Strategy Innovation). His experience and keen interest in digital transformation drew him to the role of Executive Director Digital Government.
Jenni Smith
Jenni Smith is the Career Education Manager for the NT Department of Education. She has extensive experience in administration roles both government and private enterprise, managing training organisations, and creating and supporting educational work ready programs. Jenni is committed to building relationships between industry and education to create the future workforce of the Northern Territory.
Kannoorpatti Krishnan
Associate Professor Kannoorpatti Krishnan works at the College of Engineering, IT and Environment at Charles Darwin University. He is a Materials Engineer who also worked in Information Technology Management and Software Engineering. He worked at the Australasian Centre for Policing Research as Senior Technology Coordinator from 2001 – 2004. He joined the NT Government in 2004 as the Senior Security Officer and later as the Technical Architect in the Strategy and Policy division of Department of Corporate and Information Services. He wrote many of the policies and standards covering security, architecture covering all the government IT infrastructure, devices and staff. In 2011 he was seconded to the Charles Darwin University to set up corrosion research at the North Australian Centre for Oil and Gas. He has stayed back at CDU contributing to the research in engineering and IT. He had developed units covering IT management and security and initiated research in cybersecurity. He has close collaboration with the industry and the NT Government. He worked closely with the NT government which funded positions in cybersecurity.
Krishnan has scholarly publications in corrosion and cybersecurity with his colleagues and students.
Kevin Peters
Kevin Peters is currently the CEO/Director of the Industry Capability Network (NT), an organisation that promotes Territory companies in the first instance, and the broader Australian and New Zealand business capability on larger NT based projects such as ConocoPhillip’s Darwin LNG plant, Alcan’s G3 expansion and the INPEX Darwin LNG plant, via the ICN ‘network’.
He is the immediate past Chairman of the Northern Territory Business Council and a staunch advocate of allowing Northern Territory and Australian businesses “full, fair and reasonable opportunity” to compete on major projects.
Steve Lindsay
Steve Lindsay is the NT Regional Manager of Kinetic IT. He is an operational and Information Technology executive with extensive experience in General Management, Development Management, Enterprise Technology Architecture and Vendor Management across the Banking & Financial, Education and Online Wagering industries. He has over 20 years executive management experience working for the leading international and national financial services organisations.
Trevor Oliver
Trevor Oliver has over 40 years of IT technical, IT Service Management and Business management experience. After graduating in 1977 with a Degree in Communications Engineering, Trevor’s initial role was in the development and deployment of IT systems for the Mining and Oil industry, initially in remote parts of Australia and for many years in Asia.
In 1983 Trevor moved to Darwin with his family and has been delivering ICT services from the NT ever since, mostly to the NT Government. As a communication and systems engineer/architect Trevor has implemented a number of innovative IT systems for the NTG. Trevor has been part of project teams and has also led projects as the Project Manager or as the Project Sponsor.
Trevor has a unique blend of skills in IT Service Managament, Technical Architecture and Buisness Management with the abilty to manage and guide complex IT projects to a successful conclusion.
Wendy Pech
Wendy is responsible for the day to day management of the Darwin Innovation Hub, including interviewing and profiling start-up companies. Develops Darwin Innovation Hub programs and developing industry problem statement workshops which includes working with start-ups, companies, industry bodies and Government to solves programs in key Northern Territory sectors.
Wendy is a member of the Smart Darwin Collective, a collaboration of representatives from the City of Darwin, community, business, academic and government to assist in strengthening smart city relationships to accelerate outcomes for Darwin through sharing of knowledge and best practice. Also, she is the Director and Chair of the Museums and Art Galleries of the Northern Territory Foundation.
